Adobe Reader is free forever — no subscription, no trial countdown. It is read-and-respond: open any PDF, fill in form fields, sign with a simple "fill & sign" signature, add sticky notes and highlights, print, and save. Forms, signatures and protected PDFs

Reader fully supports AcroForms and XFA forms — the kinds tax authorities, banks and governments still publish. It opens PDFs protected by passwords, certificate-based encryption and Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) labels, and verifies digital signatures against the Adobe Approved Trust List (AATL) and the EU Trusted Lists (EUTL) so qualified electronic signatures display as valid out of the box.

Installation notes

The Windows installer is offered as both an online stub (~2 MB) and an offline full installer (~250–450 MB depending on version). The offline build is the right choice for air-gapped machines, batch deployment via SCCM / Intune, and re-installing when an internet connection is unreliable.
